Anti-DISCRIMINATION
The University of Hamburg defines sexual discrimination, in accordance with the General Equal Treatment Act (AGG), as direct or indirect discrimination on the grounds of gender or sexual identity. This also includes sexual harassment and violence, i.e. unwanted sexual or gender-related behaviour that manifests itself in verbal, non-verbal or physical form and is intended to, or results in, the violation of the dignity of the person concerned or the creation of an environment characterised by intimidation, hostility, humiliation, degradation or insults. In this context, it is not the intention or motive behind the behaviour that is decisive, but rather the intrusive effect on those affected, e.g. through one-sided, inappropriate or coercive behaviour. It is not decisive whether the person concerned has made their rejection clear.
