The first Technische Universität Hamburg (TUHH) swimming course with highly motivated non-swimmers has started in the St. Pauli Bad!
Many international students can't swim. In order to be able to network well in Hamburg and take advantage of the water sports on offer, we need to be able to swim. Talking to Astrid Bültemeier at the Career Center @TUHH made me realize how many non-swimmers we are here.
From May to August 2025, a beginners' swimming course will be offered at the St. Pauli Bad (Bäderland Hamburg GmbH)with financial support from the TUHH Alumni Association. Participant administration will be handled by Hochschulsport Hamburg - many thanks!
In the twelve-hour course, the two certified swimming instructors Michel Valentin and Richard Bohl offer us adults an introduction to the world of swimming. The aim is to teach the crawl and backstroke.
Welcome@TUHH has already included the beginners' swimming course in its semester program.
I am delighted that my student initiative - LearnING to swim@TUHH has received so much feedback. Hopefully the 60 people on the waiting list will soon also be able to learn to swim!
